As we all know, when we are babies we depend on our parents in order to do all types of things, such as dress up, have a shower and even to eat. Afterwards, the more we grew up, the less we depend on them because we learn how to survive by ourselves. It is necessary to teach our children that they do not have to depend on anybody, that they have to carry on and to be strong due to life is quite hard. The next step is being an elderly person.  On that stage, we are like babies owing to we can´t depend on ourselves, so we have to depend on somebody to survive, to meet our basic needs. As I see it is that life is marvelous and sad at the same time; nevertheless, we have to live it with all our might because, as I am aware, there is only one.

Practice 4: Write a short Problem/Solution essay (around 250 words) about any issue you consider worth analysing.

Buying online is a method of purchase that has had a huge increase in the last years. As we all know, there are a lot of hackers and people who try to cheat, so we have to be careful if we are going to buy something online.

There are a lot of problems when buying online so we have to be informed before doing it. As I said in the last paragraph, there are people who try to steal money from others who buy on the Internet. Many of them sell products that they do not have. So, obviously, when they take the money they say bye and they go away without giving the product to you. There are others that put fake pictures and when you receive the product, it is not the same as they had shown you in the image.

One solution to this problem could be to buy in shops. Nevertheless, if you want to buy online, you have to be sure that the website is completely truthful. It is better if it is a prestigious firm such as amazon, due to the fact that it is almost sure that they will not cheat you, since they are well-known in the whole world and thousands of people use them. After doing that, you could ask your friends if they have bought on amazon, for instance, and you could search information about the company where you want to buy the product.

To sum up, you have to be responsible when buying on the Internet owing to the fact that there are a lot of cheaters who could steal your money. I have bought online in the last months and from my own experience I have to say that it is a reliable way of purchasing.

Practice 3: Write a short Opinion essay positionating yourself against something most people agree (but you do not).

I don´t like playing violent games owing to it is crazy to think that killing people in a game is something which makes you feel happy or funny. It is said that whether these games have the icon +18, they can not be played by people who are under 18 years old, but I do not mind this. Being realistic, it is only an icon, so I do not like these games, since violence is not a positive aspect for none.

Imagine for a moment that these games were played by children. That is one of the main and worrying problems due to children are less conscious about this topic and they believe that it is only a game. As we all know, or might know, they are only games and they are fiction, so we can not do it in our real lives. Nevertheless, some children could not think this because they are only kids without the enough knowledge to understand this. From my point of view, an 8-year-old child are not aware of the importance of violence, or the disasters that it could provoke.

So please, think about it before buying these types of games to your children because it is crazy to think that your son is going to have fun killing other people with knives, swords or guns. And the most important aspect is how some parents can believe that these games do not damage their children´s education. That is incredible to think this. To sum up, for all these reasons we have to think that violence is the worst conduct in the whole world and we must remember this little but awesome sentence: “Violence only generates violence”.

Buying on the internet; please be careful!

Buying on the Internet is a method of purchasing that has had an impressive growth in the last years. It is said that it is not advisable to buy on the Internet owing to that you could be cheated. It is true and for that reason you have to take care of it; nevertheless, it is still impossible to think that companies such as amazon are going to defrauded us. It is a prestigious company and if they did it, they would lose big amounts of money. All in all, if you want to buy something on the Internet, you must be informed of the firm where you are going to acquire the product and be sure that it is a serious company.

Advantages and disadvantages of speaking by telephone.

Speaking by telephone has a lot of drawbacks but it has many benefits too. As we all know, speaking by telephone is not an inadequate way of communication; nevertheless, when we talk with somebody, it is better and more reliable to talk with face to face and to look at the eyes of the person who is talking with you owing to that it is a sign of respect and attention to the speaker. It is said that using it we save money, since we can download free applications such as what´s up, so it is another point in its favor. To sum up, even though speaking by telephone improves our communication, it is greater to speak face to face due to the fact that it is more trustworthy and truthful.

Introduction and conclusion of an essay.

Introduction: From my point of view, Spain have not an effective way to teaching our students, especially in high school, and it is easy to realize it because of the achieved results in comparison with the students of other countries in the whole world.

Conclusion: In summary, due to the results that our students have been obtained in the last years, education in Spain should be renew and the government should investigate the problem that our model is suffering nowadays. Thus, if we do not do it now, we will face up the serious consequences that it is going to provoke in our society in a near future.

Practice 2: Write an outline for an essay. Include a thesis statement, supporting ideas and details.

Thesis statement: The best way to learn a language is reading, writing and speaking with native speakers.

A.      Reading.

i.                     Reading your favourite books after reading them in your own language.

ii.                   Reading something you really like can increase your vocabulary and improve your grammar and comprehension.

iii.                  If you enjoyed what you read, you will remember better the vocabulary, grammar or expressions that you learn.

B.      Writing.

i.                     Writing about something you like or about your daily life without worrying about grammar mistakes – you will check it after.

ii.                   You can post it on internet and ask people to correct what you have wrote.

C.      Speaking with native speakers.

i.                     The most important thing is that you will learn pronunciation – it is needed to understand what you say.

ii.                   You will learn expressions or words that are only used in their countries.

Conclusion: To sup um, if you want to learn a language, you must read a lot, write about topics that you are interested in and speak with native speakers or people who want to practice it. 

Thesis statement.

The issue that our society is suffering nowadays with technology is that people don´t use it in a responsibility way, but there is no reason to say that this problem has only been provoked by technology, since it has also been origined by ourselves.

Is really WhatsApp helping us?

WhatsApp has become one of the most famous applications in the whole world. It is used by billions of people all days.  No matter if you are younger or older because it is used by a wide variety of people. It is supposed to be an application that helps us to save money and improve our everyday life in order to communicate with our friends or families. Nonetheless, it has changed with the latest updates. You can´t ignore someone who send you a message due to the fact that this last update gives you the possibility to see if the person has read the message or not. So, if you do it, someone could get angry with you for overlooking his message. That´s why I wonder if this application improves our daily life or become worse with it.

Similarities and differences. Musicians of the Club of 27

Musicians of the 27 Club, which are Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain, even though they are unique and incomparable people, they share a lot of characteristics in common. Apparently, they had a perfect life but actually they had an extremely hard life due to the fact that all of them had problems with alcohol and drugs. Everyone of them were born in the USA, except Brian Jones, who was born in the United Kingdom. The most important connection between these musicians is that they died at the same age owing to that they earned big amounts of money but they didn´t know how to waste it and they became drug and alcohol abusers. In the same way, they had the opportunity to be stars and to have a successful life, but they didn´t know how to controlled the situation of being famous and rich. They are known by millions of people in the whole world. Currently, all of them are famous and much of their songs are universally known and recognized, even by young people. To sum up, they weren´t able to managed the circumstances of their lives but only with them twenty-seven-year-old, they were capable of causing an impact in the world and especially in the music that is still alive today.

Describing people.

My friend Tania is one of the most enjoyable person I have ever met. She is eighteen years old and she is from the same village as me. She is tall and slim. She has got straight, long and dark hair. She has got lovely brilliant brown eyes. I know her for three years. People who know her always say that she is a kind person. Nobody have told me something bad about her. She is always smiling and joking, and you won´t see her furious. She will always help you, no matter what you need, she is going to be with you even when the situation couldn´t be worse. She will do her best in order to make you feel better. Therefore, if you knew her, you would never regret.

First days at Murcia University (done in classroom)

Before starting university I was very worried about too many aspects. For example, I knew I had to live in another house, with other people who have different ways of living. Another aspect that I was worried about is that I didn´t know how the city was, so one example of this is that I got lost in the middle of Murcia when I was coming to University. Nevertheless, I hope I am going to enjoy this big stage of my life.

Problem/Solution paragraph: technology absorbs ourselves.

Currently, one of the most worrying problems of the society is the dependency on mobile phones. Technology absorbs ourselves, specially to young people. One solution should be meet more with people and speak face to face because of it is more reliable to do this. Is true that it is easier to communicate by mobile phones, but we can´t do this always. Sometimes, when people meet or in family events, there are always someone talking on what´s up or other social networks on their smartphones. We can´t tolerate this. If we meet with our friends or family, we mustn´t be all the time on our phone due to the fact that it´s supposed that we meet to speak and stay with, to have an enjoyable time with them and not to waste the time on the mobile. So one solution to this could be that we say: “The first person who takes his mobile is going to pay the meal”. The second solution is the best because nobody is going to take his mobile phone since if they did it, they should pay the meal of all his friends or family. So, if I were in this situation, surely I didn´t take my smartphone. 

Practice 1: Opinion paragraph.

Nowadays, vegetables are one of the most unliked foods in the whole word and I have always wondered why. It is one of my favourite foods and I don´t know why people hate them. I love them due to the fact that they have a lot of vitamines, greatful colours and cool forms. When I eat them I feel good since I know I am eating healthy food and they are going to give me energy and strength. Recent studies have showed that vegetables increase your brain power and make you more intelligent. So that´s why they are recommended to students. Therefore, if you want to be energetic and powerful, try to eat as much vegetables as you can. The most important and possitive aspect is that vegetables are going to make you stronger, no matter if you like them or not.

Opinion paragraph. The pianist.

 

“The pianist” is a film that was produced in 2002 by Roman Polansky. This film tells the story of a family, specially focus on the life of Wlayslaw Szpilman, who is the protagonist of the film. The plot take during the Nazi Germany´s invasion of Poland at the outbreak of World War II. In that age, Jewish people were considered and treated as if they weren´t humans. That sounds sad, but it is real. For them, Jewish people didn´t have any role in the society and the vast majority of German people wanted to exterminate this race. I agree with people who says that this film is so depressing and gloomy: however, this is a real fact in the history, so we can´t exclude it. These films are made to show us what happened in one of the most famous ages of the world. I like films which cover the World War II, in particular “The Pianist” because it is one of the most realistic films I had ever seen. It was a very enjoyable and interesting film due to the fact that if you see it, you will realize which was the mentality in that age and how Jewish people were treated. In this film you will learn a little from the history of the World War II. It is a very heavy film owing to the fact that there are many scenes where German soldiers kill Jewish people without any pity. This is one of my favourite films and that´s why I recommended you to see it. You will enjoy it!

My favourite place.

There are several places in the world that I really like, so it was difficult to choose one of them but finally I decided that this is one of my favourite places where I used to visit when I was a child. There are huge beaches where you can walk and make castles on the sand. The beaches are large and wide. If you go there, you will feel happy and free. There are also a lot of areas where it is allowed to fish. Maybe, if you think in Torrevieja you will image that it is a place which is always crowded, but it is wrong ,it is a very peaceful site. There, you can do a lot of activities, like thinking about something you are worried about with the marvelous sound of the waves. It is an enjoyable site to spend your holidays and have a good time with your family and friends. Therefore, I recommended you to go there due to the fact that you will see many beautiful sceneries, you will get a fantastic tan and you will live an unforgettable experience.

I love this way of living. It is simply marvelous.

ESTA ES LA ACTITUD...

Hidden writers.

It has to be so exciting: be an unknown writer on the Internet. You can write about all you want, express your own ideas, no matter the way you do it due to the fact that nobody will know your identity and you don´t have to justify it to anyone. Nowadays, it can occurs and I don´t know anybody who does it but I am sure that there are many people who occult his/her real name in order to feel free, to write about topics that they really are interested in and they would never write about this if people could see his/her real identity. In short words, it is supposed that we are in a democratic society; nevertheless, it not means that there aren't any taboo or aspects which people have fear of commenting, hearing, speaking or only reading.

Thinking.

When I woke up this morning I said to myself: "You have to follow your dreams, no matter what the people say, you have to do what you feel in every moment, because if you don´t do it, nobody will do it for you."
